Born in the middle of the snowstorm of the century, Shoney Sien is the eighth child in a family of thirteen kids. She is passionate about inclusion and representation in her work. While her mysteries haven't been published yet, published fiction includes a collection of short stories, Lizards/Los Padres. She co-edited two anthologies with Irene Reti, Cats (and their dykes), and Women Runners. 

In her spare time, she has run 30 marathons, worked as a bilingual teacher, and earned her MFA in Creative Writing. Sien also paints in oils, see her artwork at shoneysien.com. She lives in Coastal California with her wife and dog and a cast of fictional characters.
